Banje Beach – Best for Families

Celebrities having vacations in Dubrovnik often prefer to relax on Banje Beach, which is rather understandable. The beach provides the best view of the most iconic places of the resort: Lokrum Island and the ancient walls of the Old Town. The beach is located almost in the very center of the city. So you can easily get wants and needs met, that is walk and bathe. It has amenities and offers all sorts of entertainment, which makes it just ideal for family holidays.

It has everything for a comfortable rest: cafes, restaurants, showers, sun beds with umbrellas, a team of lifeguards, and much more. The panoramic views of Lokrum and city walls are no less spectacular here. They also have opportunities for water sports, as well as cafes and konobars (snack bars) nearby.

The beach is fringed with a charming shady boulevard, where it is so nice to hide from the scorching sun. If Banje is mostly visited by tourists, Sveti Jakov Beach is the one loved by the locals. So you will have the chance to try a unique local picigin game. This is an analogue of water polo, but in shallow water.  An important detail: to get to Sveti Jakov Beach, you must go down the long stairs. Access your power correctly, as it is much more difficult to go up the 160 steps being weary of the sun, than going down. However, you have an alternative: to come by car and park it near the Belvedere hotel or to get here by water.

Copacabana Beach – The Most Active

Despite its name, Croatian Copacabana has little in common with the white sandy beaches of Rio de Janeiro. The only common thing is a diversity of water activities. You can learn anything here: jet skiing, canoeing, kayaking, flyboarding, and much more. This is one of the largest beaches in Dubrovnik but it is not very crowded. Copacabana is located some distance away from the city temptations, but this is what makes it so charming. There is no noise, no crowds, and no fuss.  And the views are no less epic than on Sveti Jakov and Banje Beaches. The Franjo Tuđman Bridge and the Elaphiti Islands is a really worthy background for swimming and selfies. Coral Beach Club – The Most Exquisite

Once on this beach, you will definitely forget that you are in Dubrovnik as it looks more like the tropics than the Mediterranean coast. And if it wasn’t for pebbles, you would have the feeling that you teleported somewhere to the Caribbean: palms, a bar, atmosphere of total relaxation, and background music.

Located at the hotel of the same name, the beach is small, but here you will find a truly luxurious holiday and ideal conditions for “restart”. The area is dotted with snow-white chaise lounges. Some people drink cocktails, others enjoy snacks at the beach bar. The Coral Beach is a really ideal place for a metropolis resident who dreams of escaping from the fuss of the city and enjoying dolce far niente. Depending on how much you are tired, you can spend all day or the whole week on the Coral Beach.

Lapad Beach – The Most Picturesque

We would give this beach a special prize for beauty: it is surrounded by palm trees, olive trees, and pines, creating a shadow where it is so pleasant to hide from the sun at noon. Beaches with sandy bottom in Dubrovnik can be counted on the fingers of one hand. Lapad is one of them. We mean that the beach itself is pebbly and the seabed is sandy.
