Whether you are looking for idyllic snow-white or exotic black sand beaches, the ones with restaurants near the edge of the surf or those with chaise longues, the isolated romantic ones, and those posh and cheerful. We chose the top 9 beaches for you! Each of them is the best in its category. Ready to learn about the most interesting beaches on the island?

1.Bingin Beach for Surfers

It would be no exaggeration to say that Bingin Beach is a surfer’s dream that came true. The high powerful waves of the Indian Ocean can fascinate even the experienced surfers. You will not find any sunbeds, umbrellas, and cobbled paths: just the untouched nature, huge boulders, and picturesque rocks But this is what makes the beach so special! There is nothing unnecessary but silence, tranquility, and romantic sunsets. By the way, to admire the sunset is a local Balinese tradition, a kind of ritual, where all newcomers are happily involved in. Surfers and nature lovers will surely love this beach with turquoise water, coconut trees, and a lot of other lush plant life. There is no comforts of civilization: warungs (food carts), small cafes with fresh grilled seafood and ice cocktails, as well as yoga classes in a nearby hotel.

The program goes on. After studying the Bingin’s waves, move to the next level. At low sea, walk to the beach called Dreamland Beach by an Italian surfer. Unlike on Bingin, there are restaurants and beach infrastructure. Pay attention to yet another beach – Impossible. Its name implies that this is the coolest place for wave hunters! Real fans reach Imposible from Bingin just lying on the surfboard.

2. Amed Beach for Divers

Amed Beach underwater world will be a surprise even for an experienced diver. The sea here is just ideal: crystal-clear, pure, and smooth. Even if you are going snorkeling you do not need to rent a boar and sail anywhere. Just grab your scuba mask and go a few meters off the shore to dive and explore the beautiful garden of corals. The underwater world here is the most colorful on the whole island. Amed Beach is known for its exotic black sand due to its proximity to two large silent volcanoes: Agung and Batur. If you get tired of watching colorful fish, an exciting underwater odyssey to Tulamben village is expecting for you to explore the Liberty shipwreck. If we may say so, the shipwreck made a good chance for the lovers of underwater life. You absolutely do not need scuba gear as the vessel is near the coast and does not lie on the seafloor but stands stern up.

The program goes on. We strongly recommend having s short trip to Bunutan village, an absolutely picturesque place located not far from Amed Beach. Your goal is a small hotel beach, Pondok Vienna Beach. Come here to enjoy the sunsets. You can expand the area of your trip. 3. Kuta Beach for Party Lovers

This is Bali’s center of fun and noisy parties. So, logically, you can expect crazy traffic, noise, and crowds of tourists. If it’s ok for you, Kuta Beach will be the best place for you on Earth to have shindigs, meet like-minded people, and fun till you drop. The long sandy beach hosts lots of night clubs, hotels, and restaurants. Even if we can say that the beach is crowded in the morning, there is barely room to move in the evening. Someone is savoring a cocktail, someone is enjoying the sunset, someone is bathing. It is worth mentioning that Kuta Beach is one of the few places in south-east Bali where one can enter the water not by reefs but by golden soft sand. If you are not planning to party every day and want to have some quiet rest, pay attention to Legian Beach, which is Kuta’s continuation and its more tranquil alternative.

The program goes on. A walk along Kuta Beach may be really fun. You will meet nice gift shops as well as authentic cafes and restaurants. While you are studying what they can offer you here, you can find a yoga guru or a surfing coach, taste something of the local cuisine or try a massage with fragrant coconut oil. If you are looking for adventures, this is the most convenient spot to reach any place in Bali taking a taxi or renting a motorbike.

You will have many chances to try their catch, just as many as the number of restaurants you visit. The long sandy beach turns into a complete gastronomy area in the evening. Just point anything in the aquariums with your finger and in a while enjoy an extremely delicious specialty. The secret is that the seafood is cooked on the grill heated not with wood, but coconut shells. 5.Nusa Dua Beach for Family Vacations

Nusa Dua is a respectable, uncrowded, and well-groomed resort. Massage cabins, isolated shelters, comfortable walking paths – all show the high level of the place. It is no secret that not all Bali beaches are good for swimming, especially for children. Nusa Dua Beach is just a discovery in this regard. A coral reef bending around the resort protects the local waters from the vagaries of the ocean. Not to forget a shallow entry into the water and lots of water and beach activities for all ages and tastes. Here you can do anything: from kitesurfing to flyboarding (a special board raises you several meters above the water). There is an excellent 18-hole course for golf lovers. There is also Surf & Turf water park and Devdan Show show program with acrobats with dancers for children. Plus they have the Water Blow natural fountain. What more? Why not to spend one of the hot days exploring the Bali Collection, the largest shopping and entertainment complex on the island, with family. They suggest entertainments for everyone: shops, restaurants, cafes, art galleries, and even a theater.

The program goes on. You can organize an additional exciting journey for yourself. For example, visit the Uluwatu Temple. The little ones will certainly be interested in an excursion to the Pod Chocolate Factory&Cafe chocolate factory hidden in the jungle.

6. Beach for Picturesque Scenery Lovers

Unlike Seminyak, the nature of Canggu Beach is more rural and tropical. Exotic black sand beaches are picturesquely divided by neon-green rice fields, and temples of dark stone look amazing against the lush jungles. If you want not only to enjoy the beauty but also capture it in the picture, you should have in mind that: you can make the best pictures in the morning. The very atmosphere of the beach can be described as follows: the Indian Ocean, waves, rocks, and seaside restaurants. The beach is just ideal to slow down, relax, and live a resort relaxed life, i. e. walk and jog along the beach, party, gourmandize and enjoy the sunsets eating grilled corn. This beach has only one disadvantage: if you want to swim, you have to catch the time when there are no big waves.

The program goes on. Canggu is a special place for gourmets suggesting the most popular world cuisines. Anyone can find what they like here: from vegans to those who cannot imagine their dinner without a medium-rare beefsteak.

The very atmosphere of Sanur Beach is maximally relaxed. So, like it or not, you will automatically switch to the “Slow Life” mode. By the way, Sanur is one of the first resorts on Bali with comfortable swimming area. Since the beach is washed not by the Indian but by the Pacific Ocean, the entry to the water is smooth, the water is shallow, and there are almost no waves – just golden sand, peace, and tranquility. There are no noise and nightclubs. The entertainments here include restaurants, boating, and snorkeling near the reef about two hundred meters from the shore. You can walk along the coast or spend time in the gazebo on the breakwater enjoying the views of Agung volcano.

The program goes on. You can also admire the orchids in Bali Orchid Garden, visit the Taman Safari Park Sanur Bali or organize a bike tour to Ayung Canyon. Boats from Sanur regularly go to the tiny Gili Islands or Lembongan, where white sand, turquoise water, and beach cafes await you. The Seminyak Beach, which has the reputation of the most stylish and high-class beach in Bali, is full of respectable tourists savoring exquisite drinks in one of the many beach bars. 9. Padang Padang Beach for Movie Enthusiasts

A few years ago, only locals knew about the Padang Padang Beach. Nowadays, this is one of Bali’s most popular beaches thanks to the movie ‘Eat, Pray, Love’ starring Julia Roberts, which was partially filmed here. After the crowds of tourists visited this 100-meter stretch of sand, the beach lost a bit of charm but is still gorgeous. If you want to enjoy its atmosphere, come here early in the morning or late in the afternoon, when the crowd starts to leave the beach. This is the time when reggae musicians are starting to gather on the beach so pleasant romantic atmosphere is guaranteed. There is a beach bar, a nice sandy coast, clear water, and almost no waves that can knock you down on Padang Beach. Nevertheless, surfers continue visiting this beach to enjoy the so-called Balinese Pipeline, which is a natural tunnel formed by wave flows where the water rushes with great speed. Do not worry, this phenomenon is away from the swimming area.

The program goes on. There is a charming Blue Heaven Hotel on the cliff next to the Padang Beach special for its infinity pool overlapping the rock edges, which makes it seem like it is floating in the air. If you want an active holiday, pay attention to the surrounding rocks loved by climbers. The height to be climbed is only ten meters, so even beginners can do it.
