This wonderful villa in the heart of Lequile in Salento is a peaceful haven where the traditional Italian charm of a historic palazzo meets modern comfort, inviting you to relax in a calm atmosphere and enjoy the authentic beauty and warmth of southern Italy.
With its large living area (350 sqm) reserved for only 4 bedrooms, it is comfortable and spacious. The grounds (over 700 sqm), planted with greenery, provide ample space for al fresco dining, relaxing by the pool, or under the orange trees. It is the ideal place to explore the regions of Puglia and Salento, as the villa is conveniently located 5 minutes from the historic town of Lecce and 25 minutes from the beach.
The property offers four bedrooms, each with comfortable king-size beds (180 × 200 cm) and a bathroom (one equipped with a bathtub and shower, the others with showers). The master bedroom also has a private patio and outdoor shower.
This is Italy, so the kitchen is the heart of the home. A fully equipped modern space with an island at its center, the kitchen offers direct access to the dining room and the outdoor pool area. The dining room with a direct view of the pool features a long table that seats eight guests.
One of the favorite spots is the bar, which has a welcoming and cozy ambiance. A comfortable sofa makes it a great place to relax, work, or enjoy drinks with friends. The inner garden is another great spot to relax, read, or meditate.
The swimming pool (40 sqm and 1.4 m deep) has various shallow areas where you can relax or dip your feet while reading a book or enjoying a drink. For your convenience, there are four comfy sun loungers and parasols. The pool terrace also has several additional mattresses for relaxation.
Additionally, there is a lounge area under the shade of orange trees, equipped with a built-in barbecue. Next to the kitchen is a dining table, perfect for enjoying a meal.
In the morning, you can spend your time relaxing by the pool, soaking up the sun, and admiring the peaceful surroundings. In the afternoon, enjoy the serenity of the lush garden while relaxing or strolling among the greenery. As the sun begins to set, gather for an al fresco dinner in the garden, enjoying the authentic flavours of Puglia under the starry sky. End the evening in complete comfort, cozying up by the fireplace, allowing the warmth to lull you into complete relaxation.
Conveniently situated a short five-minute drive from the enchanting Baroque city of Lecce and about 25 minutes from Salento’s best beaches, the palazzo offers a fabulous base from which to explore Puglia. Lecce is a secret jewel of southern Italy. We recommend enjoying an aperitivo at Quanto Basta or an ice cream from Pasticceria Natale.
The authentic small village of Galatina is a 15-minute drive, a true Puglian community with a great bakery, Staglio, for fresh focaccia, and Pasticceria Ascalone for exceptional sweets. Driving south towards Tricase Porto via the picturesque route from Otranto offers the ideal opportunity to admire the countryside and stop for a meal at Taverna del Porto or Allo Scoglio. The Valle d’Itria abounds in green hills, olive and fruit orchards, vineyards, and UNESCO-designated villages.
Don’t miss Cisternino or Ceglie Messapica (head to Cibus for a great meal in Ceglie), and be sure to visit the White town of Ostuni and the trulli capital of the world, Alberobello. Spend a couple of hours wandering around Grottaglie and visiting ceramists. Stop by Antonio Fasano, Ceramiche Arces, or Nicola Fasano: each of them with a unique style.
When the sea breeze beckons, all you have to choose is your destination — the Adriatic or Ionian Sea, both less than half an hour away. The sleepy seaside town of Santa Caterina is a favourite spot for owners, who recommend sunbathing at the Salsedine beach club. Cove swimming and rocky “cliff” jumping are best at Sant Isidoro beach (25 minutes), with a nice club called Lido Petra. For those who enjoy dining by the sea, we recommend heading to San Foca (also 25 minutes), with its waterfront cafés at Mora Mora beach.
A little further away, a 45-minute drive, is the town of Tricase, which resembles a Greek island with its high cliffs and impressive rocky coastal landscapes. And for true adventure lovers, it is worth following the owners' recommendation and heading to Campomarino, an hour's drive away. The dunes alone are worth the trip, and the Lido Posto 9 beach club offers a relaxing day in the sun and an excellent fish restaurant!
