This lovely modern villa is designed by a well known architect and exists in perfect symbiosis with its surroundings. Built completely from local and natural materials, the property sits among the olive groves only 5km from the Adriatic and close to the charming towns and villages of the Itria Valley and is accessed along an illuminated path of olive trees. Single level house is the epitome of comfortable minimalism. The rooms are bright and airy, simply decorated in natural colours but warmed by local stone and wood to cerebrate the land the villa is built on.
The villa sleeps six guests. The high-quality design grants high level of comfort without being showy, as this is a house which guests are invited to relax in. The high-end kitchen is stylish and modern, softened by the natural materials and the light that pours the space. The living room is large, too, while the big corner sofa is squishy comfort itself. The bedrooms are perfect in their simplicity, offering en-suites with double basins and access to private terraces.
A house for any season, in the warmer months the large sliding doors in the living area can be fully opened up and guests can move easily between the villa, the dining loggia, the outside terraces and the pool. A Mediterranean garden offers different interesting corners for rest.
The three en-suite bedrooms are one side of the main entrance, while the living space is on the other. There are two doubles and one twin, all simply but exceptionally comfortably furnished in natural colours and materials. Each bedroom offers access to a private terrace with lovely views of the garden and its ancient olive trees. Each bedroom features its own bathroom with a shower, toilet, bidet and double basin. There is a guest bathroom, too, and an outdoor shower.
The spacious and professionally equipped kitchen is an ideal example of modern design using natural materials. Its polished minimalism is warmed by the wall run of dark-wood cupboards. Combining form with function, these contain the appliances and storage, and the attention to detail in the thoroughly chosen grain pattern of the wood is pleasant. The same wood forms the dining table end of the central island where the mixed electric- and gas-hob and sink are placed. A picture window at one end shows the garden and olive trees, while sliding doors at the other end lead onto the dining terrace and garden. Internally, the kitchen opens into the generous living room. The smooth tactile stone flooring in the house is seamlessly continued outside. A charmingly square loggia includes the summer kitchen and BBQ as well as a beautiful marble dining table facing the garden and pool.
The living room oozes cosy minimalism – a large square room, it features a TV and a corner sofa that stretches along two walls. A long cut-out fireplace makes it comfortable in the cooler months while light fills the space all year round from the wide picture window and the sliding doors that open onto the terrace. Outside there are six sun loungers by the pool and a terrace adjacent to the dining loggia with plenty of comfy seating for all guests.
The property is accessed through an electric gate and via a private graveled drive through the olive groves. There is vast parking space and a shaded carport. The low-lying house is surrounded by ancient olive trees and sits comfortably in a wonderfully landscaped garden. The walkway to the house is laid with slabs of local stone from Lecce, while the charming pool has a paved sun terrace and is placed in front of the house with the dining loggia separating them. There is a lounge terrace and each of the bedrooms boasts access to the garden via private window doors.
There is plenty of space around the house which has been wonderfully decorated with dry stone walls and featuring some ancient olive trees. The large pool can be used from April to October and is ideally set for parents to watch kids from the comfort of a sun lounger or while cooking in the summer kitchen. The dining table is ideal for al fresco lunches and dinners.
