Gentle, rounded contours, moulded forms, and a white-washed facade: welcome this beautifully designed 7-bedroom villa wonderfully combining architectural elegance, exquisitely styled interiors, and al fresco lifestyle pleasures. Each corner oozes positive energy, creating a flair of vitality, and Greece's golden sunlight pours inside, cheering and bringing a feeling of well-being. The property consists of a 3-level main house and three guest bedrooms accessed separately from the grounds.
Accessing the main house through the entrance hall, you will appreciate the property’s characteristic architectural and design features: curvaceous white walls with rounded edges and high arches are crowned by a lofty, vaulted ceiling; a raised, polished, grey concrete passage crosses the communal space, contrasting with their honey-coloured wooden flooring; series of bi-fold doors open out onto the surrounding terraces; and large modern artworks decorate the walls, adding splashes of colour here and there. This blend of features, materials and colours is present throughout the whole property creating a beautiful union of space.
On the left of the raised, polished concrete passageway is a generous living area with a wall of cushioned built-in seating, a pair of designer chairs, and a feature fireplace. On the right, is a long dining table served by a well-fitted modern kitchen with anthracite and wooden cabinetry. Just to the left of the entrance is a guest WC and a rounded staircase that leads up to the first level and down to the lower level.
A central landing on the first level offers easy access to a panoramic communal terrace and the first two bedrooms. The master bedroom is a large, luminous double (180 × 200) with sea views, access to the terrace, and a bathroom with an elegant tub, double sinks and a separate WC. Bedroom 2 is a double (180 × 200) with sea views, an en-suite shower room and access to the terrace.
The lower level of the main house features a central hallway which transforms into a well-equipped fitness area and 2 double bedrooms (180 × 200 and 160 × 200), one with an en-suite shower room, the other with an adjacent shower room.
The first two separately accessed guest bedrooms are a few steps across the terrace from the main house. The first one is a triple-level suite with a lounge area on the ground level (with access to a shady terrace), a kitchenette and a shower room down a few steps, and an open mezzanine sleeping area with a double bed (160 × 200) above. Sea-view double bedroom 6 (180 × 200) has a pair of wide, arched glass doors, access to a shady terrace, and an en-suite shower room.
The third guest bedroom with separate access is set below the pool area and presents a free-flowing space with a lounge area, a kitchenette, a lightwell, a sleeping area with a double bed (160 × 200), and an open en-suite shower room.
Generous villa grounds span around the main house and the guest bedrooms on several levels. Paths and stairs link different terraces, meandering around and between the exquisitely landscaped gardens, which have been planted with a variety of fragrant shrubs, bright flowers, ornamental grasses, and bushes. Many spots have been equipped for relaxing, dining and admiring the sea views, and there is enough space for gathering together for convivial moments and finding some peaceful corner for a little private time.
Large bifold doors in the open-plan communal area of the main house lead out onto a spacious, shady, decked terrace with arches and a trio of cushion-covered sofas facing the sea across the pool and the gardens. A walkway of the same grey, polished concrete flooring used inside extends from here along the facade and around the sides of the main house. At the centre is the attractive, 14m-long infinity pool linked at one end to a triangular hydromassage pool set a couple of steps above. At the other end is a decked area with sunloungers, and a roomy shaded space equipped with a large table, plenty of built-in seating, a barbecue and a bar. The main house kitchen opens onto this area, making al fresco dining a comfortable and easy experience.
A couple of steps up from the pool terrace, the smooth polished concrete goes on to the first two separately accessed guest bedrooms opening onto a well-shaded sea-view space. To one side of these bedrooms, a path leads up to another vast communal al fresco space with well-cushioned, cane-shaded seating, a coffee table with an integrated fireplace, a pizza oven, and the same fabulous sea views. Adjoining this space is a lovely room with a couple of desks, a hammock, a sink and a WC.
The landing and the bedrooms on the first level of the main house open out onto a panoramic terrace, part of which is shaded. The views over the sea and the southwest coast of Mykonos from here are exceptional. Large, polished concrete steps lead down below the pool to the third guest bedroom, where there is another shady lounge.
Wrapping around all these terraces are the attractive, large gardens, wonderfully landscaped over several levels with massive, carefully placed boulders, gravel paths, stone walls, and a large variety of flora, from fragrant shrubs and ornamental grasses to olive trees and prickly pears. This greenery not only decorates the property but also hides a couple of secret al fresco spots, one with a hammock, the other with an outdoor cinema and a large lounge area moulded out of smooth polished concrete.
The property is set on top of Agios Lazaros hill, a promontory between the bays and beaches of Ornos and Psarou near the southwestern tip of Mykonos. Apart from the beaches of Ornos (10 mins) and Psarou (7 mins), there are some others within a 10-minute' drive, including those at Platis Gialos and Megali Ammos. A little further afield, but well worth visiting, are the gorgeous sandy beaches of Kalo Livadi and Kalafati, about 25 minutes to the east. Between them, these beaches boast some fantastic seafront tavernas, beach clubs, and water sports and diving centres.
Concerning the facilities, there are a couple of tavernas, a café and a minimarket within walking distance (1km) in the small village of Agios Apostoloi Glastros. Otherwise, you'll find a greater choice in Platis Gialos (restaurants), Ornos and Mykonos Town. The latter, with its lively, bright and scenic old centre is just 10 minutes away, and there's plenty to enjoy there.
The pretty historic village of Ano Mera, in the centre of Mykonos, is a 20-minute drive away and makes a lovely place to explore. You can spend some time there people-watching and sipping on a drink in its cafés or visit one of its good tavernas.
Since it was “discovered” in the 1960s, Mykonos has become one of Greece’s most renowned and cosmopolitan islands and one of the most trendy destinations in Europe. It is popular among fashionistas, celebrities and party-lovers, but also caters to discerning travellers in search of a harmonious atmosphere in which to relax, unwind and entertain.
The island is easily explorable in a week and boasts a lively beach life, plenty of options for water sports, picturesque views, a great variety of fantastic restaurants, and a legendary party scene. With its numerous bays and coves, it is also a perfect destination for those who enjoy spending time messing about on boats, and we recommend you rent one for a day or two to discover Mykonos's excellent coastline.
Just across the water is the sacred island of Delos, the birthplace of Apollo and Artemis and one of the most iconic archaeological sites in Greece. Equally close is the island of Tinos, so if island-hopping’s your thing, there are plenty of adventures awaiting you.
