An exceptional setting above a golden sandy beach; relaxed seaside charm; the soft lullaby of the surf on the shore; emerald green hills and cerulean skies; gorgeous sunsets to finish dream-filled days: life at this villa is exciting, relaxed and carefree at the same time. Make plans to explore Corfu if you like, but once you drive through villa's gates for the first time, you'll find it hard to leave your perfect hideaway.
The property consists of the main house spread over 3 levels and a guest house. The main house's front door opens in to inviting hallway off which the ground level accommodation flows. Directly on the right is a guest WC, and then, on the left, is the generous and light-flooded living room. Here you are introduced to the architectural and interior design aesthetics that define the property as a whole: high ceilings and walls are painted white, with the exception of a stone feature wall, which echoes the stone-clad exterior; smooth grey polished concrete flooring transforms into large, L-shaped built-in seating either side of a fireplace; walls of sliding glass doors open up to allow the space to flow effortlessly outside; breathtaking sea views reach the horizon; and carefully chosen and thoughtfully placed lighting creates a pleasant ambience as night falls.
Going back past the entrance hall, a corridor of sliding glass doors leads to the large and well-equipped kitchen-dining room, which features concrete shelving, custom made wooden cabinetry, a good-sized central island, a large, marble-topped table seating 10, and more glass sliding doors opening out front and back onto the surrounding terraces.
Past the kitchen, stairs lead up and down to the main house's bedrooms. Down a few steps, past the laundry room, is a double bedroom 1 with shower room and a living space with kitchenette opening out into a courtyard garden.
Going up the stairs to the first level one reaches a landing, off which are 3 more bedrooms. Master bedroom is large and elegant with double bed, private sea-view terrace and a amazing en-suite bathroom with double sinks, a free-standing tub, a separate shower, and sliding glass doors opening out onto the terrace. Double-twin bedroom 3 comes with en-suite shower room. Quadruple kids' room 4 with two sets of bunk beds has en-suite shower room, too,
The guesthouse, which is located between the main house and the pool, comprises a suite with a double-twin bedroom 5 with en-suite shower room, and a living area with kitchen corner and large sliding glass doors opening onto a shady terrace.
The villa sits on a generous beachfront plot and its al fresco areas have been designed to make the most of the sea views, which can be admired from every corner of the property. There are shady and sun-kissed spots all round the house, meaning that there's always somewhere to spend some quiet moments or to join up with your friends and family for moments of conviviality and fun. The living room in the main house accesses outside on two sides, where, facing the sea, is a generous sea-view terrace, including a reed-shaded pergola.
To the side of the house is the main al fresco area, which is accessed both from the living room and the kitchen-dining area. Complete with a pair of olive trees and boasting more enchanting sea views, this space has a large shaded area furnished with sofas, easy chairs and a dining table. The kitchen-dining area also has access to the opposite side of the property, where, once again, is a spacious reed-shaded pergola and another dining area. Steps lead from the main al fresco dining area to the upper terraces, from where one may access the guesthouse which has a wide shaded terrace, too.
A few steps across the gravel from the guesthouse are the placid cobalt waters of the pool, which is surrounded by plenty of flowers, plants and trees. Corfu is an exceptionally fertile and green island, and villa is surrounded by greenery, including wooded hills, olive groves, vineyards and flourishing bushes.
Back on the sea-facing terrace outside the living room, a path weaves through well-kept beds, planted with bright flowers, low Mediterranean and fragrant shrubs, before leading with the steps down to the beach - in just a minute or so, you can be lying on the soft golden sand or swimming in the refreshing waters of the Ionian Sea.
The villa is situated on the southwest coast of Corfu in one of the most quiet places of the island. Below the villa is the blue sea and a pair of beaches - Prasoudi, which is accessed directly from the gardens - and Kauris, which is an easy walk away. Other lovely beaches close by include Paramona to the north and Halikounas to the south. This latter is a 3km-long stretch of sand and dunes that divides the sea and Lake Korission, an oasis of natural beauty that's home a wide range of flora, fauna and birdlife. The beach also has a great water sports center providing lessons and facilities for kitesurfing, windsurfing and paddle boarding.
Behind the property, lush, wooded hills rise up to over 400m. At the top is the stately Pantokrator Monastery, and there is much more to explore along the walking trails that start from nearby Agios Mattheos. This village, which is just a 10-minute drive from the villa, is an untouched, authentic Corfiot center with a good choice of facilities, including minimarkets and tavernas.
Corfu Town, with its UNESCO World Heritage Site old town, twin Venetian fortresses and lively weave of streets flanked by restaurants, cafés and bars, is easily reachable in about 45 minutes.
The north of Corfu is within easy driving distance, and whether you head to the clifftop Venetian castle of Angelokastro, the picturesque bays and beaches of northeastern Corfu, the atmospheric abandoned mountain village of Old Perithia you will never have to drive more than an hour and a half. Corfu also provides many dynamic and fun activities for children, if you manage to get them out of villa's pool and away from its beach.
