PRF 0388 is a graceful 19th century home that is inspired by the owner’s own journey. The villa boasts 320sq. m of generous living areas that invite you to stay and unwind. Bedroom 1 (38 sq. m) offers a king-size bed (180 x 200cm) and simple antique furnishings. A large bathroom with a lovely antique mirror enhances the light in this charming space which has a three-sided, panoramic view of Saint-Émilion and villa’s private gardens.
Bedroom 2 (27 sq. m) is north-facing and features a 160 x 200cm queen-size bed and a simple wooden desk with a view of Saint-Émilion’s hilltop monolithic church and panoramic view of the village ramparts and the vineyards of Château La Clotte.
Bedroom 3 (28 sq. m) is south-facing and offers a 160 x 200cm queen-size bed and views of the private garden, pool and the historic chapel of Château Ausone.
Bedroom 4 is bathed in morning sunlight. This 29 sq. m bedroom features a 180 x 200cm king-size bed, an elegantly simple wooden desk and a bathroom with two-sided views on Saint-Émilion’s 12th century ramparts, the medieval watchtower and villa’s 200 year-old olive tree.
Bedroom 5 (31 sq. m) situated in the property’s south-east corner, is bathed in sunlight from morning to late afternoon. A 160 x 200 cm queen-size bed and very large bathroom offer a haven of comfort and peace with views of the enclosed garden, pool and the vineyards of Château Pavie, Pavie-Maquin and La Clotte.
Villa’s fully-enclosed and peaceful garden welcomes you to relax with shaded terraces, a swimming pool, a wide croquet lawn and amazing views of the village ramparts. Villa’s 2500 sq. m southwest-facing outdoors allows you unwind and entertain in absolute privacy. Soak up the sun from the (10 x 4m) heated, salt water swimming pool and many lounge areas. Enjoy a competition on the well-kept croquet lawn.
Dine alfresco under one of the villa’s two pergolas or the back terrace. Prepare your meals at the summer kitchen which is equipped with a plancha and barbecue. Private parking for 6 cars is discreetly located in a corner of the property.
At property’s doorstep sits the historic UNESCO village of Saint-Émilion. Its cobblestone streets, monolithic church, multiple restaurants and wine shops are within a 5-minute walk. The classified-growth wineries of Château Ausone, Pavie-Macquin and La Clotte literally surround the villa. Château Pavie, Bélair-Monange, Clos Fourtet and Canon are just a few minutes farther afield.
The wonderful city of Bordeaux is 45-minutes away. The Médoc and famed ‘Left Bank’ vineyards are just over a one-hour journey. The villa is also an perfect base to explore a variety of France’s most picturesque locations. Cognac, the Dordogne valley, and the Atlantic coastline with the striking Bay of Arcachon and Cap-Ferret are all within a 90-minute drive. Farther afield, the Basque region with Biarritz, Lourdes along with San Sebastián and Bilbao in Spain are two to three hours away.
