Description

In the sun-kissed lands of southwest Menorca, this graceful, beautifully renovated home is a dream getaway for groups of friends or families. Arrive here to relax, surrounded by 210 pristine hectares, ensuring absolute privacy and seclusion, yet only a 15-minute walk from the breathtaking white sand bay and shining turquoise waters of Cala Macarella – one of the island’s best beaches.

The architectural beauty of this rural farmhouse, carefully restored with local marés sandstone and limestone, mirrors the island’s traditions. A testimony to craftsmanship, the blend of traditional charm with modern elegance creates a delightful retreat. Stroll through the vast estate or head to the divine Cala Macarella, a haven of peace within Menorca's UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.

The 18th-century villa is set within over 200 hectares of natural beauty, in a quiet clearing, surrounded by mighty trees, big skies, and amazing landscape. The indoors and outdoors are harmoniously united, creating a tranquil escape in nature with every modern amenity at your fingertips. The authentic materials and features, like stone arches and wooden beams, were preserved, and natural materials, like hardy bamboo for the terrace, were chosen to enhance the villa’s harmony. Days are spent here in a relaxed rhythm, starting with sun loungers and the pool, followed by an afternoon exploring the island, and ending with a private chef’s feast under the stars.

The property, dating back to 1769, was built as an agricultural estate owned by a nobleman and was tenanted by a local farming family for many years. After 200 years, the estate had fallen into disrepair. A thourough two and a half year landscaping and renovation project converted the property into an understated yet elegant escape for year-round vacations where eternal charm marries modern comfort amidst naturally landscaped grounds. Today, an original farmhouse and the traditional agricultural barns wrap you in an ambiance that seamlessly combines indoor-outdoor living, designed with families or groups in mind, where privacy and seclusion are essential.

As you lounge on a mix of antique and modern furniture, you can admire the masterfully restored wooden beams above or the authentic stone archways that lead you from one refined space to the next. These exciting original features combine flawlessly with muted wall colours and natural linen fabrics, including jute and raffia rugs chosen for their warm neutral tones, brightened up by occasional splashes of colour. A thoroughly selected collection of modern art and objects adds to the easy and airy flair.

DLSP 0209 is about finding balance: fine-tuning the connection between past and present, nature and structure, to build a concordant environment that strengthens your sense of equilibrium and welfare. Step inside spaces that echo and enhance the estate’s natural wilderness. Every material is natural, from the limestone walls to the soft furnishings crafted from jute, raffia, and linen. Copper fixtures elegantly develop a unique patina over time, authentic beams adorn the ceilings, and stone and herringbone brickwork lie underfoot. While neutral colors create a soothing vibe, the atmosphere is complemented by a careful blend of antique and bespoke furniture, artful colour accents, warm lighting, contemporary art, and the company of good friends.

With six spacious double en-suite bedrooms, there’s plenty of space for everyone to enjoy quiet moments of privacy before coming together in conviviality. Relax comfortably in the shared spaces, which include a modern kitchen, TV room, library, dining room, lounge, and gym. Outdoors invites you to unwind with a large swimming pool (16 × 9 m), lovely gardens, and magnificent pine woodland rising all around. Enjoy the sun or the shade in the alfresco lounge area, then light the fire pit and cook a fresh catch in the garden kitchen as stars appear to light the sky.

Six graceful guest bedrooms — each named after a charming local beach — are divided between the main house and restored outbuildings. Two master suites boast exciting views and are located in the main farmhouse and a separate former granary with a private garden, while the further four garden-view bedrooms are found in the old barn, just steps from the heated pool. Each room is created with your comfort in mind, offering a laid-back feel. Soothing neutral colours set the atmosphere, enriched by lively accents, custom-made and antique furniture, soft lighting, modern art, and chic en-suite bathrooms.

This enchanting home is superbly located in the sunlit lands of southwest Menorca, just a 15-20 minute walk from Cala Macarella and Cala Macarelleta. Venture a relaxing stroll to discover some of Menorca’s most serene beaches. Cala Macarella tempts with its horseshoe-shaped bay, surrounded by pine-clad cliffs, inviting you to enjoy long, lazy days. For a more vibrant experience, the lively Cala Galdana is also within easy reach. Merely 25 minutes away lies Ciutadella, Menorca’s stunning second city. Conveniently situated just an hour's drive from Menorca Airport, this delightful retreat is easily accessible.

We invite you to uncover an island that strongly protects its natural beauty, supporting untouched landscapes, crystal clear waters, and important Talyotic (Bronze Age) structures. Declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve over 30 years ago, the island makes a perfect getaway from everyday routine.

The island is dotted with lovely white-washed villages and two lively cities. Ciutadella, the island’s second city, is a real jewel with its scenic port, maze-like old quarter, majestic honey-hued buildings, and an exciting collection of Baroque and Gothic churches. Maó, or Mahón, the island’s capital, amazes with its stunning combination of sophisticated Georgian townhouses and contemporary apartments, with a labyrinth of hidden alleyways weaving through its compact centre. Bursting with restaurants and cafés, Mahón is always a bright spot for an evening out.
