Portraits in golden frames decorate the tiled hallway and the mansion's 4 towers look out to the sea at this 19th-century property located to the north of Barcelona. The house arises amid a peaceful pond and groves of pine and eucalyptus on 3.5 private hectares on the Maresme Coast — the most popular holiday destination for rich Barcelona citizens in the 1800s. Join the volleyball game on Montgat Beach, just a 9-minute drive away.
Start each morning with hearty breakfast service. Then take a stroll under the 200-year-old trees the grounds are planted with, enjoy several laps in the saltwater swimming pool, a nap in one of the sunbeds, or taste pintxos in the outdoor living and dining areas. Though this property dates back to the 1800s, nowadays it is equipped with satellite TV and Wi-Fi, too.
The villa’s grand entrance hall, living rooms, and formal dining room offer an impression of grandiose chic with their gilt-edged paintings, coffered ceilings, tiered chandeliers, and elegant furniture. The breakfast corner, at the same time, features cheerful bird-print wallpaper, and the fully fitted kitchen is a little island of modern style with a polished breakfast bar.
All of the 5 bedrooms offer twin beds that can be joined as a king bed; all but one of the bedrooms feature en-suite bathrooms. For larger groups of friends or family, there’s also an additional room with two twin sofa beds and an en-suite bathroom.
Take a walk through the village center of Alella to taste local wines, savour a superb dinner over a glass of cava, or pick up a local perfume to keep memories about your vacation in Spain. The villa is less than a 5-minute walk to neighborhood landmarks like Can Cuiros, and less than a 10-minute drive to the golden sand of Montgat Beach.
