This comfortable villa is located in an exclusive gated community of Pego, approximately a 25-minute walk from the beach. Decorated in an elegant Comporta style, it combines modern architecture with natural elements, ensuring a peaceful and refined secluded stay.
This villa, surrounded by a generous Mediterranean sand garden of pine trees, olive trees, manicured shrubs and local herbs, is located just minutes from the Atlantic beaches of Pego and Carvalhal. The long, low, linear structure is complemented by a delightful combination of charming garden furniture made of straw, sea grass, wood, cane, and rattan, and its open-plan shared spaces are hidden behind large sliding glass doors. The interiors feature a spacious living area, a stylish open-plan kitchen, and a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor spaces.
The villa has 5+1 bedrooms (3 queen-size beds and 5 single beds), all with en-suite bathrooms and their own private outdoor areas, accommodating up to 11 guests.
Outside, there are numerous areas ideal for relaxation. Whether relaxing in the shaded lounge by the heated pool or sunbathing in one of the many dedicated alfresco areas, the villa invites you to enjoy comfort and tranquillity in a truly exceptional setting.
The villa is just 500 meters from the local restaurants and shops, and about 1.8 kilometers from Pego Beach, promising a serene getaway along Portugal’s popular Alentejo coastline. Carvalhal’s beaches are freer and easier than those around Comporta and Melides. Carvalhal is one of seven towns in the Herdade de Comporta, an area of rice paddies and the wetlands of the Sado Nature Reserve. Carvalhal Beach is situated at the end of the town’s main street. Surrounded by dunes and rice paddies, the family-friendly beach also has a lovely traditional waterfront restaurant, while beach loungers and parasols are provided for a fee.
Pego Beach is within walking distance from the villa, a secluded, four-kilometer stretch of golden sand surrounded by a pine forest. Sal Restaurant on Pego Beach is a family-run venue serving grilled fish and freshly caught seafood. Dolphins frolic in the coastal waters, and thanks to the waves, the entire region is also a popular surfing spot (for both professionals and beginners), served by surfing schools and local guiding companies. Carvalhal is also famous for its boutiques, antique shops, attractive cafés, and taverns.
Nearby Comporta (about a 10-minute drive north) has become a favourite destination for travellers from all over the world, who have followed in the footsteps of fashion designers, international architects, entrepreneurial urbanites, and modern art collectors. Comporta is admired for its relaxed elegance and trendy boutiques offering handmade goods, lively galleries, and charming cafés.
Nearby Melides is also a favourite destination for design-conscious tourists, who enjoy the growing selection of galleries, studios/workshops, and boutiques. This largely unspoilt region remains as scenic as ever, despite its popularity — a picturesque landscape of green vineyards and cork oaks, rice fields, and groves of gleaming olive and orange trees. Serene and rugged nature enthusiasts will be delighted by horse riding along the coast, and the golden sands of this area stretching for many kilometres.
