For centuries cloistered nuns, searching a rest from the world and a special place to feel closer to God, have lived and prayed on the hill where this villa has been built. The blissfulness of this place can still be felt today. Time seems to stop there, allowing guests to truly rest, rebalance, recharge and experience the authentic local way of life, taste exclusive wines, meditate, swim, walk, horseback ride and discover untouched Medieval villages, woods and beaches.
The property marks the start of a new era for first-rate hospitality, changing the concept of exclusivity. Through a modern perception of comfort, culturally sophisticated travelers will enjoy Tuscany in an eco-friendly chic estate where heritage, modern art and Italian craft come together.
Thoroughly restored and made timeless due to the passion and taste of its owners and the work of expert Italian artisans, who over the course of a decade have crafted each single element from stone, iron and wood by hand, the villa boasts collaborations with some of the best modern artists in the world: from the sculptures of Matteo Pugliese and Matteo Lucca and the graffiti of Pixel Pancho, to the monumental art of Gustavo Aceves.
The estate displays the ideal synthesis between the eternal beauty of Tuscan nature and the exceptional charm of an ancient stone walled castle. At its heart has been the conservation and renovation of the historical structures and the decision to use old material, respecting nature and the environment. The stone to rebuild the villa is extracted from its own hill, digging for the foundations. Stone, iron and wood were worked inside the estate by Italian artisans and craftsmen.
The over four meters high fireplace invites you into the living room: a place of pleasure and joy, among sofas, rugs, books, art and windows facing the valley and the sea. At the very heart of house, a fully equipped ultra-modern stainless steel kitchen offers chefs and food lovers the perfect stage to prepare and taste Italian and Tuscan recipes made with local products.
Villa’s credo is that good sleep is important for the wellness of the body as much as space and beauty are important for the wellness of the mind. Each bedroom is a one-of-a-kind experience of design, style and comfort where every detail is cared for. From a system of air circulation to cool off naturally the temperature during summer nights in addition to the latest air conditioning and under floor heating to allow guests to walk around bare foot even in winter, to traditional massive stone and brick fireplace, private balcony and roof terrace with fascinating views, king-size mattress fitted with organic linen bed sheets, huge bathroom with bathtub or shower room, exclusive toiletries, scented candles and natural fragrance diffusers made in Italy.
Stone, wood and iron, like in a medieval song, characterize and enrich the ochre colors of the Italian landscape, while the ever changing blue of the swimming pool hand painted tiles turns into a bridge to the Mediterranean Sea. One can only imagine travelling back in time to see the Medieval nuns living in harmony with nature and its rhythms on its hill surrounded by forests and fronting the sea.
The fabulous ambience of villa’s stone vaulted wine cellars provides a unique experience for exceptional wine tastings and charming dinners in the secret passageways of the castle.
Built on the top of a hill surrounded by forests and facing the sea, DLI 0192 is a prestigious estate with minimum impact on the environment. Due to the use of Roman construction techniques the consumption of water and energy have been minimized and the heating and cooling of floors and walls made more efficient working with nature itself. Vineyards and olive groves all around the estate, orchards and vegetable gardens within and outside the stonewall supply daily the freshest food.
Tuscany, Italy most known region, keeps a secret named Maremma. With a captivating history that dates back to the Etruscans, a fairytale land made up of a stretch of pristine hills and countryside expanding to reach long sandy beaches, dazzling rocks and a sea famous for its blue colors and clarity.
All around the estate, the feeling of Dolce Vita still exists in the medieval villages of Magliano, Talamone, Pereta, Capalbio, Pitigliano, looking magical with their stonewalled castles and towers nestled on hills. True to their peasant roots, every villager knows everyone and peace, laughter, tasty homemade food and great wines are king.
Monte Argentario on one side and Parco della Maremma on the other make a unique microcosm, a natural reserve where to meet porcupines, foxes, deer, bulls and the typical Maremman cows, white with robust lyre-shaped horns. In the lagoon of Orbetello rare birds, including pink flamingos, nest. On a day boat trip you can enjoy the seven Islands of the Tuscan Archipelago, that stand out on the horizon in front of the estate: Elba, Giglio, Giannutri, Capraia, Pianosa, Montecristo and Gorgona.
Another extraordinary place, both because of the beauty of its ruins and the legends that wrap it in mystery, is San Bruzio Monastery. Built in the eleventh century with travertine quarried from the property, San Bruzio has been connected to the villa mystically with the convent and physically through a stone road, parts of which were preserved and are still visible today on the plot of the estate. For art enthusiasts: il Giardino dei Tarocchi, a monumental esoteric sculpture park inspired by Tarot cards, created by French artist Niki de Saint Phalle. For outdoor sport lovers: the prestigious Argentario Golf Club, the kite and windsurfing heaven of Talamone Bay, hiking, biking or horseback riding on the beaches and in the forests surrounding the property.
