A secret gem, situated in the heart of Rome near Villa Borghese, this is a gorgeous historic estate that sets a new standard for chic accommodation in the city. The story of the villa began right before the start of the First World War. The idea to build this architectural jewel was initiated by an engineer Adolfo Sebastiani in 1910s. He took a large part in the development of the area that would later become known as the refined Quartier Sebastiani, but among all his projects this villa would stay the greatest and the most extraordinary.
Firstly, he authorized an architect Oriolo Frezzotti to build the villa, but unsatisfied with the initial project, he assigned it to another celebrated architect, Arnoldo Foschini, who reimagined and finished it by 1929. The result was a Liberty-style building immensely influenced by Greco-Roman architecture, surrounded by a classical Italian garden. Afterwards, villa became a primary residence of a wealthy noble Italian family for several decades. Nowadays, the property has been lovingly refurbished, keeping its external and internal structure as well the historical elements of décor. Redesigned in Art Deco style, the splendid interiors will amaze anyone. Over 1000 sq. m of marble, semiprecious stone surfaces, including rare amethyst wall panels, brought from Madagascar, and a huge art collection are hidden behind the historical 1920s façade.
Villa boasts 4 fabulous suites, each decorated individually by the famous interior designer Jacques Garcia.
Bold yet sumptuous, the design decisions display Garcia’s love for Napoleonic extravagance. Rich fabrics, marble bathrooms, elegant artworks, genuine period furniture and vintage pieces by Lalique, Baccarat, Colombostile – each suite is full of character.
The most suitable description of villa’s art collection would be “accumulation of wonderful things”. Immense and eclectic – it includes Greek and Roman antiques, Chinese and Japanese objets d’art, European period furniture and elements of modern design.
Enjoy La Dolce Vita in the heart of Rome. Offer yourself to a moment of peace and bliss in a traditional hammam in the spa area or take a swim in the fabulous indoor swimming pool reminding of the Roman baths. Admire the magnificent Roman sunset while sipping a glass of Prosecco in a fantastic Jacuzzi on the roof terrace. Explore the legendary landmarks of the Eternal City, many of which are within the walking distance from the villa. Go on a shopping spree near the Spanish Steps.
Villa Clara is a perfect place for small scale events, intimate weddings, engagement parties and other occasions. All the living spaces and the garden can be used for private functions. One of the most charming areas in the villa, the brilliant dining room offers an ultimate setting for an evening full of romance or for a celebration of special event. Last but not least, the magnificent roof terrace with 360-degree panoramic views of Rome may also be used for dinning under stars or a chic cocktail after-party.
