This charming property is the ancient cottage for stone quarrymen, built at the end of the 1800s, inside a stone quarry, situated in Faggeto Lario shore, on Lake Como. The owner of the villa is Giuseppe Guin, the writer and journalist who set his novels in this place, rich in stories and legends. At the bottom of the quarry, the steep rock still keeps the marks of the stone quarrymen who have worked there for centuries, drawing stones from which the villas and churches of Lake Como were built. On the lake shore, the grassy beach is surrounded by the characteristic rocks with circular steps, used previously by the fishermen of agoni and perch.
This waterfront property oozes the enchantment of a centuries-old history. A private corner, where you can spend special moments of well-being, enjoying the peace and quiet of the lake and listening to the silence of its sunrises and sunsets.
The villa of 120 sq. m offers two double rooms each with its private bathroom, one single room (best suited for 2 kids) and a wooden and glass veranda with lake view. The library was made of centuries-old chestnut wood boards, set in stone. The living room, with antique furniture and an ancient kitchen with a granite sink, is carved between the square stones of the quarry. One of the bedrooms faces the lake and you can hear the sound of waves lapping against the rocks. The second bedroom overlooks the laurel forest and provides a view of the natural amphitheater, shaped in the rock.
The wooden doors are adorned with ancient bolts saved in the houses of the village and the lights filter through old hand-forged iron lanterns. 3000 sq. m of lawn and forest surround the property encircled by a mountain wall on one side and a grassy beach towards the lake.
Villa is accessed only from the lake. Parking place for your car is available in Faggeto Lario. On the arrival/departure day transfer from Faggeto Lario moorage is included (2-5 min by boat).
