The villa is set on a generous plot of 4.5 acres of alpine gardens, granting an exceptional level of peace and quiet. The roof garden terrace on top of the pool house is the ideal sunbathing place whilst the main house terrace or the poolside feature lovely alfresco dining facilities. All rooms at the villa are equipped with underfloor heating for your comfort during the winter months and the most up to date wiring to facilitate fast Wi-Fi and entertainment systems. Both the living room and the office feature large digital televisions which can also be found on the games level and in the pool house.
Al-fresco dining is available at three locations: under a pergola on the main terrace facing the lake, down at the poolside and also at the rear of the house facing the gardens. Off the main terrace you can find a fire-pit lounge area which makes a fabulous viewing spot for pre-dinner drinks, or perhaps a barbecue.
The first level master suite boasts two private balconies accessed from the bedroom and en-suite dressing room and bathroom. This suite offers scenic lake views to the south and sunset views to the west. The second level mirrors the configuration found on the first level. Again, each of the bedrooms enjoy wonderful lake views from their own private balconies.
The generous open space of the third level has a number of different entertainment areas, designed for everybody’s comfort. A new addition to villa is the pool house that seems to float over the pool and sits in a prime position with panoramic views over the towering mountains and azure waters of Lake Como. With the walls folded back, admire the jaw-dropping landscape from the comfort of the oversized sofas inside the pool house with a drink in hand. Or unwind on a sun-lounger on the spacious pool terrace, the dining deck or simply relax in the Jacuzzi. With full services, including a chef’s kitchen in the pool house, you can comfortably spend the day without even leaving the pool area.
Set at 881 metres above the lake and with no immediate neighbours, the villa is an oasis of tranquility. Once outside the villa gates, the charming mountain village of Pigra is only 300 metres away and is the ideal base for hiking and mountain biking. Pigra offers a couple of restaurants and a tennis court in addition to its own cable car station that runs to the lakeside village of Argegno below with its own ferry station, lido and plenty of restaurants, and can be reached in under 5 minutes. It is also home to villa’s private boat and mooring – perfect for exploring all that Lake Como has to offer. Villa is a 75 minute drive from Milan Malpensa International Airport and 60 minutes from Switzerland’s Lugano International Airport.
The Italian lakes bring to mind all sorts of romance. Como in particular is often referred to as the most picturesque lake in the world, with its prealpine hills, microclimate, and the charming towns along the shore. The magic of the place has not gone unnoticed, and the lake appears in various writings by Hemingway, Manzoni, and Stendhal, to name but a few of the writers charmed by its waters. More lately, it’s become famous for the celebrities that own property in the area like Madonna or George Clooney. While the town of Como is in its own province, it’s only 40 minutes train ride from Milano Centrale, and Malpensa airport – the largest in the north of Italy – is actually closer to the lake than the city.
