This fabulous villa on the Amalfi coast is a refined, historic residence surrounded by terraced gardens with awe-inspiring views of the Amalfi coast and Gulf of Salerno. Immersed in a park of exceptional beauty, embedded in the rockface, the villa is suspended on the dramatic cliffside, offering a truly one-of-a-kind location and total privacy. The main building is spread over an area of 950 square meters, including terraces and balconies, and is surrounded by a park over 25,000 square meters large. There are lemon trees, olive trees, pergolas with vines, a cobalt blue swimming pool, a pool house with sauna and panoramic views.
The interior and exterior set up of the estate create the quintessential scenario for an unforgettable stay, characterized by the highest levels of quality, elegance, and comfort. The interiors underwent a thorough, careful renovation, respecting the historical-artistic constraints of the original estate and the traditional architectural elements typical of the coast. Almost all of its décor and furnishings, all of the highest quality, were made by Italian artisans, combined with antiques, such as the gold plated door knobs and goldsmith cabinet doors, Murano glass lamps, statues and busts of significant artistic value, and modern Italian masterpieces, part of the owner's private art collection.
The villa is air conditioned throughout and includes six bedrooms accommodating 12 guests in total. All rooms benefit from the latest generation in TV screens, wonderful works of art and valuable paintings, Murano glass chandeliers, Venetian wall lamps, minibar, safe, chromotherapy showers, and bathroom courtesy sets on par with a five star hotel. Each room features its own en-suite bathroom with either a large bathtub or shower. One suite also boasts its on Jacuzzi set into the rock. All rooms offer amazing views that can also be enjoyed from their panoramic terraces or verandas.
The ground level houses a welcome area, several living rooms, a bar, and the kitchen. The corridor leads to Gore Vidal’s ex-study, designed as it was during his stay at the villa (used only as a museum). A living room with sea views greets the guests with fresco ceilings and a working fireplace. In a separate lounge area you will find a bar, beautifully set up in inlaid wood. The living room enjoys a private terrace which has a panoramic sea view overlooking the coast towards Minori and Salerno all the way to Punta Licosa on the Cilento Coast. The kitchen facilities can be used by both staff and guests. A round, sea-view terrace is located 20 steps down from the entrance.
Suite 1 is 80 square meters of pleasure, with a living room, bedroom, a small veranda with a panoramic view, floors are tiled with beautiful mosaics. The living room features a roomy fitted bespoke wardrobe, sofas, armchairs, side tables, a desk with chair, lamps and a maxi screen TV. The bedroom includes an original fireplace, and a four-poster king size bed with a headboard in fine leather, bedside tables, chest of drawers, lamps and maxi screen TV. Suite 2 is about 80 square meters, it includes a bedroom and a spacious panoramic veranda. To be noted is the mosaic flooring. The veranda enjoys a Jacuzzi. It looks over the terrace and has seating and tables with a small desk with mirror. The bedroom features a king size bed with fine leather headboard, bedside tables, a large fitted bespoke wardrobe, lamps, desk and maxi screen TV. The spacious bathroom boasts an inside window and arched ceiling, two wash basins, W.C., bidet and a large shower.
Suite 3, with outside access, is an independent studio suite of about 80 square meters. It features a small living area, a bedroom and mosaic flooring.
