Thoughtfully designed, thoroughly cared for, and furnished with a summery lightness, this enchanting villa is a dream for anyone passionate about light, space, and relaxed living. White-washed stone walls make the ideal backdrop for the bright colors of the lush floral gardens and the blue waters of the Aegean, and an ambiance of calmness, privilege, and serenity dominates the property. The villa consists of a single-level main house and a two-level guesthouse.
The entrance to the main house leads into a cozy and bright living room, with four white armchairs and a sofa set around a central coffee table in front of a fireplace. Three French doors overlook the sea and offer access to the terrace. With its meticulously white-washed stone walls and wood-beamed ceilings, flagged floors, olive grey door and window frames, a sense of order, and a flair of timeless tranquillity, this pleasant space oozes the character and the charming style of the whole property.
An opening to the right of the main entrance leads into a large, fully-equipped sea-view kitchen with a breakfast table, a large central island, French doors accessing one of the shady outdoor dining areas and a side terrace, and opening onto the central, walled courtyard garden.
You will find a guest WC and the first two bedrooms to the left of the main entrance. The generous master bedroom has a double bed (150 × 200), a walk-through wardrobe, sea views, French doors leading onto the sea-facing terraces, and a spacious en-suite bathroom with a bathtub and a pair of open showers. Bedroom 2 is a twin room (95/190 × 190) with en-suite shower room.
The guesthouse next to the main house is accessed from the internal courtyard garden. You enter the open-plan communal space with a kitchen and breakfast table to one side and a wonderfully furnished sea-view living area with sea views and access to the sea-facing terraces to the other. Doors from a little hall off the living area open into the two ground-level bedrooms: a large double (150 × 200) with sea views, terrace access, and an en-suite bathroom with bathtub and overhead shower and a twin bedroom (95/190 × 190) with sea views and an adjacent shower room.
The rest of the accommodation is on the lower ground level, reached via a staircase from the living area. There are two kids' bedrooms, each featuring two bunk beds (95 × 190). One bedroom offers an en-suite shower room, and the other has an adjacent shower room and a door accessing the lower terraces.
Concerning al fresco living, the villa benefits from two distinct, but equally fabulous options: on one side are the amazingly sheltered courtyard gardens and pool area; on the other is a wide expanse of open sea-view terraces.
In the first area, covering over half an acre, white-washed stone walls connect with the façades of the two houses surrounding a lovely garden, where paved areas combine with emerald lawns, palm trees rise majestically into the skies, and various flowering plants, climbers, and shrubs bring lively colors, amazing aromas, and a feeling of absolute tranquility. At the center sits the stunning 17m-long zero-edge pool, while to one side, looking back across the pool at the main house, is a spectacular shaded communal area, with plenty of comfortable seating, a super-long dining table, a cooking area with a large barbecue grill, workspace and sink, and a WC.
A wooden door in the wall between the main house and the guesthouse, as well as a path to one side of the main house, offer access to the large terrace with panoramic vistas over the northeast coast of Paros, the islets of Finisses and Evriokastro, and the deep blue Aegean Sea. Accessed from the master bedroom, the main house living area and kitchen, and from the double bedroom in the guesthouse, this terrace boasts a shaded al fresco dining area, which presents guests with a charming dilemma - to dine in the courtyard gardens or facing the sea.
Back in the courtyard gardens, a flight of steps descends to a terrace with a wood-beamed roof and a table tennis table, the ideal place for friendly tournaments during your stay. Finally, near the entrance to the main house, steps lead up to a roof terrace with a stunning 360-degree view.
The villa is nestled on the northeastern tip of Paros just over 1km from the beaches of Mikri Santa Maria and Santa Anna and a trio of tavernas. It is also perfectly situated for exploring the north of the island with its generous offer. For many people, Paros is the most authentic of the Cyclades. As one of the largest, it offers something for everyone, young or old, party-goers or culture enthusiasts. Among its numerous attractions are vibrant little towns, various beaches, world-famous windsurfing spots, gourmet restaurants, calm traditional villages with waterfront fish tavernas, religious, cultural, and historical sites, and a lively nightlife scene.
Due to the comparatively limited distances involved - the island measures less than 25km from north to south - it is easy to explore in a week or two, no matter where you're staying. Its mountainous hinterland, with peaks rising to about 700m, is dotted with the occasional monastery and crisscrossed by old mule tracks. Down to the coast, meanwhile, there is a great choice of lovely sandy beaches and scenic coves, and a day or two spent on a boat exploring these is strongly recommended.
Concerning towns and villages, beautiful Naousa, sleepy Marpissa, and lively Parikia (the capital and main port) are just a 15-, 20- and 25-minute drive away respectively. The first has a little harbor, a maze of narrow streets lined by shops and tavernas, and the remains of a Venetian castle. The second is a white-washed beauty that seems unchanged for centuries. It’s a pleasure to wander through its narrow streets, while a walk up to the monastery of St Anthony on the hill above allows breathtaking views of the island. The third is a lively little town set around a semi-enclosed bay that charms guests with its sandy beaches, numerous bars and tavernas, archaeological museum, and wonderful Byzantine Church.
Just across the bay from Naousa is picturesque Kolimpithres Beach, famous for its crystal-clear waters and exciting rock formations, and for those interested in history, a visit to the Mycenaean Acropolis is a must. Set atop a rocky scarp high above Kolimpithres, it dates back to the 13th century BCE and offers insights into Paros's long history and fabulous views. It takes pretty long to get up there, so you'd better do it in the early morning or late afternoon when it’s not too hot.
Paros's most northern tip, the Monastiri peninsula is also close by. A protected park spread over about 80 hectares of rocky, sculpted hills, secret sandy beaches, walking trails, and undisturbed flora and fauna, it’s a superb day out for nature lovers and hikers with the bonus of an end-of-excursion swim in the sea.
Cultural tours are readily available on Paros, so whether you want to visit Parikia's old town center, the ancient marble quarries, or the unique island of Despotiko, you can immerse yourself easily in the island's history. Kids are well catered for as well, and a visit to the butterfly nature reserve just north of the airport is a good idea. If all that wasn't enough, Antiparos is just a 10-minute ferry ride across the water from nearby Pounta, making a little island hopping eminently possible.
