Amazingly elegant and stylish, this villa has been carefully designed, wonderfully furnished, and flawlessly finished. Its generous, well-shaded terraces offer the perfect setting for relaxed al fresco living, and the immense space creates a sense of freedom that is only enhanced by the scenic views out across Kolimpithres Bay to the enchanting white town of Naousa.
Accommodation is divided over the main house three levels and four guest bedrooms accessed from the surrounding terraces. From a lovely courtyard with high walls of local stone, the entrance to the main house leads into a bright and airy open-plan communal area, whose well-defined spaces join each other through a series of rounded arches. The airiness, the elegant architectural details, the overall sense of quality, and the attention to detail impress at first sight.
High, white wood-beamed ceilings, smooth sandstone floors, white walls, and olive grey door and window frames make the ultimate background for a beautiful splash of color - a red coffee table, paintings, modern artworks, pale blue soft furnishings, a polychrome tiled side table, a lemony yellow rug, and others. At every chance, large sliding glass doors invite in the picturesque sea views and allow for an easy flow between the interiors and the terraces.
To the right of the main entrance is the dining area with a square wooden table, comfy chairs, and a triptych of windows creating a cozy ambiance. An arch to one side opens into the well-fitted modern kitchen with an island/bar and access to the summer kitchen and dining terrace. Down a couple of steps from the dining area is the first lounge space, furnished with a pair of sofas and easy chairs. Two sliding glass doors lead onto the terraces and open stunning views out to sea.
To the left of the main entrance is the second sitting area (and TV room), furnished with a modern blue sofa and a pair of designer lounge chairs. Next to it is the guest bathroom, equipped with a shower. By the main entrance, stairs lead up and down to the upper and lower levels.
The first level houses two bedrooms: the spacious master bedroom (double bed 180 × 200, plenty of built-in storage, large en-suite shower room with double sinks, and a panoramic private terrace overlooking the sea) and bright double bedroom 2 (155 × 190), also with en-suite shower room and a private sea-view terrace.
On the lower level, you will find a beautiful hallway with a round table in the center and access to a bright living space with skylights, a TV, and a long, well-cushioned built-in sofa; two generous sea-view double-twin bedrooms (95/190 × 180), each with its en-suite shower room and access to a vast communal shaded terrace.
The remaining accommodation is presented by the four independent guest bedrooms. The first two, both doubles (180 × 190) with en-suite shower rooms and sea views, are accessed from the terraces wrapping around the lower level. The third and fourth are double rooms (180 × 190) with sea views and en-suite shower rooms, accessed from the pool terrace.
Outdoor spaces have been designed with the same attention to detail as the interiors. Spread along the sea-facing side of the house, and seamlessly accessed from all the ground-level rooms, is a long, wide terrace, where al fresco life may be enjoyed to the fullest. A large part of this space is shaded by a slatted wooden structure and equipped with quality outdoor sofas and chairs, a pair of large dining tables, a built-in cushioned seating, a shower room, a bar, and a fantastic kitchen with barbecue, fridge, sink and prep area.
The terrace surrounds the stunning infinity pool (13 × 4,5), from where guests can take in the views across Kolimpithres Bay to Naousa. It includes a variety of well-furnished lounge areas, some shaded, others sun-flooded. Steps lead down from one side of the pool to the garden level, where a vast stone-flagged terrace connects the two lower-level bedrooms of the main house with the two independent guest bedrooms on this level. At each end, outside these bedrooms, is a wood-slatted pergola with cozy seating and sea views.
The two bedrooms on the first level of the main house boast their own private terraces, from where the views are arguably at their best. Outside the main entrance is an amazingly secluded lining area flanked by high stone walls. Where the terraces end, bright and colourful Mediterranean gardens begin. A pair of paths meander down through them to a gate at the bottom, from where one may walk down to Kolimpithres Bay (note, that the way back to the villa is steep).
The property is situated near the northernmost tip of Paros, just across the bay from the scenic little town of Naousa. A 3-minute drive will take you to spectacular Kolimpithres Beach, famous for its transparent waters and fantastic rock formations. There are three tavernas and a couple of beach bars there. Charming, unspoilt Monastiri beach is also just a few kilometers away.
For many people, Paros is the most authentic of the Cyclades. As one of the largest, it offers something for everyone, young or old, party-goers or culture enthusiasts. Among its numerous attractions are vibrant little towns, various beaches, world-famous windsurfing spots, gourmet restaurants, calm traditional villages with waterfront fish tavernas, religious, cultural, and historical sites, and a lively nightlife scene.
Due to the comparatively limited distances involved - the island measures less than 25km from north to south - it is easy to explore in a week or two, no matter where you're staying. Its mountainous hinterland, with peaks rising to about 700m, is dotted with the occasional monastery and crisscrossed by old mule tracks. Down to the coast, meanwhile, there is a great choice of lovely sandy beaches and scenic coves, and a day or two spent on a boat exploring these is strongly recommended.
Concerning towns and villages, beautiful Naousa, lively Parikia (the capital and main port), and sleepy Marpissa are just a 10-, 15- and 20-minute drive away respectively. The former has a little harbor, a maze of narrow streets lined by shops and tavernas, and the remains of a Venetian castle. The second is a lively little town set around a semi-enclosed bay that charms guests with its sandy beaches, numerous bars and tavernas, archaeological museum, and wonderful Byzantine Church. The third is a white-washed beauty that seems unchanged for centuries. It’s a pleasure to wander through its narrow streets, while a walk up to the monastery of St Anthony on the hill above allows breathtaking views of the island.
For those interested in history, a visit to the Mycenaean Acropolis is a must. Set atop a rocky scarp high above Kolimpithres, it dates back to the 13th century BCE and offers insights into Paros's long history and fabulous views. It takes pretty long to get up there, so you'd better do it in the early morning or late afternoon when it’s not too hot.
Paros's most northern tip, the Monastiri peninsula is also close by. A protected park spread over about 80 hectares of rocky, sculpted hills, secret sandy beaches, walking trails, and undisturbed flora and fauna, it’s a superb day out for nature lovers and hikers with the bonus of an end-of-excursion swim in the sea.
Cultural tours are readily available on Paros, so whether you want to visit Parikia's old town center, the ancient marble quarries, or the unique island of Despotiko, you can immerse yourself easily in the island's history. Kids are well catered for as well, and a visit to the butterfly nature reserve just north of the airport is a good idea. If all that wasn't enough, Antiparos is just a 10-minute ferry ride across the water from nearby Pounta, making a little island hopping eminently possible.
