Hidden away in the wooded coastal hills of Lefkada and facing the Ionian Sea, this pleasant property beautifully marries a magical, genuine Greek ambience, a feeling of tranquillity and easy access to a series of picturesque beaches and the seafront tavernas and bars of Sivota, a serene fishing village on the coast below.
Accommodation is divided over the two-level main house and a guest house in the gardens. Furnishings and decorations throughout blend authentic elements, such as the antique tile flooring and an eclectic collection of Greek objets d'art and rustic details.
The main entrance opens into the cosy open-plan living and dining area with a large fireplace, hardwood floors, a warm colour palette, wide windows and an arched glass door leading out to the main covered terrace. A door near the dining area leads to the traditional kitchen featuring a breakfast table and access to the outdoor dining area on the front terrace as well as a second door leading, via a few steps, to the garden annexe where you will find double bedroom 3 (165 × 195 cm) with an en-suite shower room, a kitchenette and a private terrace.
Back in the main house, off the living area, there is a twin bedroom 1 (100 × 200) with en-suite shower room and access to the main sea-facing terrace. Going up the stairs from the living area to the first level, you will find the main double bedroom 2 (160 × 190) with panoramic windows, an en-suite bathroom with bathtub and access to a wonderful sea-view terrace.
Paved terracing and lush gardens with bright colours and shady trees surround the property, but your favourite spot will be the front terrace offering excellent views stretching from the wooded hills and deep blue waters of Sivota Bay to the islands of Cephalonia and Ithaca. Here, accessed from the dining area and kitchen is a wide, aromatic arcade, furnished for relaxing and al fresco dining. A few steps across a paved terrace lead to the second outdoor dining area and farther to the charming pool (10,5 × 5) with arguably the best views.
Each bedroom benefits from access to the outdoor areas: the ground-level twin room opens onto the main sea-view terrace, the first-level master bedroom offers a beautiful panoramic terrace, and the annexe has its own alfresco lounge area. Whether you're splashing in the refreshing waters of the swimming pool, sitting on the terrace, glass in hand, admiring the sunset colouring the mountains into a rosy pink, or dining al fresco under the stars, the outdoor spaces of the villa are the ultimate place to relax.
The villa is located in the south of Lefkada, near the village, tavernas and harbour of Sivota (a 10-minute drive), and within an easy drive of numerous beaches, including those at Mikros Gialos and Vasiliki. Exploring the island of Lefkada, which is 35km long and 15km wide, is comparatively easy in a week (if you can pull yourselves away from the views and pool of the villa!) and has a lot to see and do. The azure, clear waters of the Ionian Sea are a true attraction and the varied coastline offers plenty of golden sandy beaches and the dramatic white cliffs of Cape Lefkatas on the southern tip. The wooded mountains of the island interior, some of which rise to over 1100m, provide charming walking, picturesque scenery, and a scattering of serene villages where the way of life stays deeply connected to the island's ancient traditions and customs.
At its northern point, Lefkada is connected to mainland Greece by a causeway and, via frequent ferry services from the ports of Nidri and Vasiliki, to several of the other islands of the Ionian archipelago (including nearby Meganissi), making it eminently possible to explore further afield.
