This comfortable villa (350 sqm) in the heart of the Porto-Vecchio region looks unique with its contemporary architecture and exquisite décor. Its clean lines, combined with a natural color palette, reflect the serenity of the surrounding landscape. Its modern style matches harmoniously with the rustic details, creating a cozy yet refined atmosphere.
The windows are complete with intricate, vertically louvered, accordion-style wooden shutters that slide to reveal panoramic Mediterranean views, making the sea a focal point, even when shut. This wood is a leading design feature of this coastal property, distinguishing it from most Corsican holiday retreats. Due to the creative collaboration of architect Gilles Terrazzoni and interior designer Angélique Buisson, this outstanding natural-style villa crowns the rugged Corsican coastline, while its outdoor spaces blend organically with boulders and aromatic Mediterranean landscaping.
The seaside house, built of wood and stone, has been highly praised by Elle Décoration. It is a textured masterpiece towering over Corsica’s azure Santa Giulia bay, boasting an infinity swimming pool (12 × 4 m) surrounded by a wooden terrace that mimics the Mediterranean Sea. This designer villa, which pays homage to the island's natural materials, is a thoughtful reconstruction of a 1960s brutalist space, immersing its guests in the textural interplay of wood, stone, linen, and clay. Owner and designer Angélique Buisson created the centenary oak library separating the villa's entry from the open plan living area. Designer pieces decorate the rooms, including a living room ensemble by the collective Kar Studios, an organic wooden dining table and benches by Galerie Armel Soyer, and clay bead lamps by the South African designers of Mud Studio.
Six double bedrooms (two can be configured as twins) benefit from shaded wood terraces and private bathrooms finished with Moroccan tiles and complete with Japanese cedar tubs by Maomi. An alfresco dining pergola is especially cozy and private thanks to billowing, coconut fiber drapery by La Scourtenerie that combines seamlessly with the rustic, Mediterranean garden featutes, and an outdoor lounge under the trees is adorned with teak furnishings plumped with pillows by Libeco and Misia and lit by recycled paper suspension lamps inspired by fishermen’s nets created by Best Before. Art objects include Christian Caulas' sculptures, paintings by Aleksandar Bezinovic, and the ceramic works of Catherine Dix.
The villa's exclusive concierge service ensures guests a fully customized experience. The team can organize any services upon your request: private chef, massages, yoga sessions, restaurant reservations, boat rentals, and more. This service is offered for a weekly fee of €1,000, in addition to the cost of services requested.
Think of a perfect day at your exceptional holiday home. Begin with a revitalizing swim in the heated pool, followed by a hearty breakfast on the terrace with panoramic sea views. Then wander through the Mediterranean garden or challenge your friends for a game of pétanque. Late in the afternoon, take a 20-minute walk to the beautiful Santa Giulia beach or a 15-minute drive to explore Porto-Vecchio's vibrant city centre. On your return, finish this ideal day with a barbecue dinner under the starry sky.
Nestled above the Bay of Santa Giulia with beach and Mediterranean Sea access, the villa sits on the Southern Corsica coastline near the town of Porto Vecchio. A petanque court and sun-kissed wooden pool terrace make your stay easy and comfortable, while yoga, massage, child care, private chef, and boat rental are available upon request. Snorkeling equipment makes the short trip to the beach a favourite activity, and the lagoon-like Plage Santa Giulia with shallow, transparent waters is perfect for swimming and splashing, plus offering waterfront cafes and a popular fishing pier. The white sand Palombaggia beach of Porto Vecchio embraces a coastal inlet and is considered one of the loveliest on the island. It is actually a line of several beaches covering a sandy 15-kilometer stretch, with shining coves separated by massive terracotta-toned rock outcroppings and seaside shrubs. Palombaggia boasts views of the protected Cerbicale islands framed by picturesque umbrella pines that reflect in the shimmering turquoise waters.
Nearby Porto Vecchio is the only major town on Corsica’s southeast coastline, a stunning, ancient, hilltop community built around an impressive, 16th-century citadel and its stout ramparts. The Genoese citadel and the Old Town maze of streets spreading outward from it overlook a contemporary, yacht-filled marina, one of Europe’s most prominent harbors. Porto Vecchio, bustling with life thanks to its traditional food vendors, craft boutiques, and specialty shops, is renowned for its lively cafés, restaurants, and taverns, both in the Old Town and along its shining marina. Old stone buildings, built within arm's reach of each other, create a labyrinth in the scenic city centre, which ends with Republic Square and its watchtower church. Head north out of Porto Vecchio to the headland known as Cala Rossa, or drive south to discover Rondinara beach, a natural, horseshoe-shaped bay surrounded by pines and protected by a neighboring nature reserve.
